Girona is approximately 40 minutes from Barcelona by train or an hour and a half drive by car, making it an ideal day-trip to those looking from a break from the bustling city. Though many Games of Thrones fans will also list Girona as worth a visit due to it being home to several filming locations, in my opinion, it’s the historical preservation, hidden gems, and the fact that virtually the entire city is walkable that make Girona most worth visiting.
Up until a few months ago, I had never even heard of the country of Andorra. It wasn’t until I ran a quick Google search on “day trips from Barcelona” that I discovered the sixth smallest nation in Europe that sat on the border of Spain and France.
Visiting Iceland in the winter provides some of the most beautiful scenery and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. That being said, winter in Iceland can also be notoriously unpredictable and weather can change quicker than you can say, “wow, I should’ve brought that face mask.”
A 6-day self-drive, winter itinerary of Iceland – from Reykjavik to the South Coast, and up to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
Despite my lack of original enthusiasm, our series of delicious dining experiences definitely solidified Iceland in my mind, as a foodie mecca.
I’m not sure what film or television show started it but growing up, I always had an infatuation with Paris. I even told myself that the first time I had the opportunity to travel internationally, I would hop aboard a flight to France.
